The beaches : Sand or Pebbles ?
| Whilst many of us dream about the sandy beaches of faraway islands, Villeneuve-Loubet can be proud of its stony beaches. They are natural ! Of course sensitive feet prefer sand, but pebbles have a lot of advantages : they are more hygienic, they strengthen the soles of the feet and they make pretty paper-weights ! Suffice to say the Villeneuvois like their pebbly beaches and do their best to protect them against the annual threats of the fierce Ligurian current. For the most delicate beachgoers, the town has provided one sandy beach. But what is sand, if not ground-down pebbles ! |
For families, a superb stretch of fine sand has been installed at the west entrance to the commune. All the beaches are cleaned every day during the summer season. Firemen keep watch during July and August ( 2 first-aid posts ). Access for the handicapped to one of the beaches.
